The 9
th annual English Tea and Garden Tour presented by the Shasta
Lake Garden Project will take place on Sunday June 4. The 4 gardens will this
year be within a 10 mile driving radius making a very compact tour . This is a
self-guided tour. The club is proud to have found all the worthy gardens in the
city of Shasta Lake and adjacent. Gardens will be open from 10 a.m. until 4
p.m. Tea will be served at Shasta House, a lovely corporate guest house, from
10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Guests will find demonstrations of Indian basket weaving by Tina Johnstone, wire
sculpture and drawings by Sten Hailand, garden and party hat decorations by
Billie Babcock, dried flower petal art by Gary Jensen a wonderful display of
indoor and
outdoor metal sculptural art by John Martin-Streeby. Pat Mallote will be
selling the plants she propagates especially for suited for our climate.
During the English style sweet tea , served by Liberty Christian School students
under the direction of Blaire and Christine Bonham, musicians will rotate each
hour , playing chamber music which will enhance the afternoon’s ambiance. There

The tea and tour is the principal fund raiser for the Shasta Lake Garden Project
which designs and landscapes the public gardens in the town of Shasta Lake. The
organization is an all volunteer non-profit corporation. It’s motto is
“Enhancing the Community through Gardening”
