“Enhancing the community through gardening . . .”

Memorial Bricks and Plaques Installed

It has been a long time coming, but the Shasta Lake Garden Project has finally found a licensed and bonded contractor who would take on the small job of installing the memorial bricks and plaques for our Memorial Garden.

Dennis Sinner , a local licensed contractor, Dennis’s Construction, was able to install the 14 bricks on a concrete base along the walkway at the east end of the garden. He also installed brass plaques to dedicate 2 trees , 4 flowering shrubs , 2 rose bushes and one bench. Dennis also installed the dedication plaque at the entrance to the Memorial Park.

Anyone is eligible to memorialize loved ones in this garden. Not only residents of the City of Shasta Lake, but other communities as well. Your parents, for instance, may never have lived here, but you may have a memory of them placed here.

Each brick or plaque bears the name of the loved one to be remembered, along with the date of birth and death. Prices for the various types of memorials are: Bricks, $50; Flowering shrubs, $150; Flowering Trees, $300; large trees $500; and benches of which only 2 are available at this time, $750.

Information regarding the availability and purchase of bricks and plaques can be had by calling Jayne Lane at 530 275-3449. An informational brochure is also available at Shasta Lake City Hall, Shasta Lake Chamber of Commerce, and the John Beaudette Senior Center.
