The Shasta Lake Garden
Project selects the Yard of the Month from each area of the town in
turn, Pine Grove, Central Valley, Project City, and Summit
City. So each area is selected twice a year. Our program runs
from March through October . It is funded by a combination of the
Redding Record Searchlight, the SLGP and local merchants, whose names appear in
the announcements each month.
Lucky winners receive a $50 gift certificate from a local Shasta Lake merchant
and the honor of having the Yard of the Month sign in their front yard each
month.
We believe the contest is developing a conciousness of the importance of
beautiful landscaping and the realization that it is not the size of the
garden, but the love that has gone into its development.
